Experience the Benefits of Massage
There is no denying the power of bodywork. Regardless of the adjectives we assign to it- pampering, rejuvenating, therapeutic- or the reasons we seek it out- a luxurious treat, stress relief, pain management- massage can be a powerful ally in your healthcare regimen.
Massage has been attributed with decreasing anxiety, enhancing sleep quality, improving concentration, and reducing fatigue. Massage can provide relief to muscular pain, improve range of motion, and reduce spasms and cramping. It has been proven to be effective in relieving migraine headaches and helps provide relief to fibromyalgia sufferers. Professional bodywork has been found to enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow, which is the body’s natural defense system. It also releases endorphins, which are amino acids that work as the body’s natural painkiller. Massage acts to manually pump oxygen and nutrients into tissues and organs thereby improving circulation.
Melissa Ferrato attended massage school in 1996 at Arizona School of Integral Studies. Her training involved a variety of modalities including Swedish massage, shiatsu, connective tissue, cranial sacral, reflexology, polarity therapy and reiki. She is interested in alternative therapies that treat the whole body and encourages people to find natural solutions to correct imbalances and counteract stress.
